The impact of not getting support within school or university for dyslexia is huge. Nikita’s story shows how getting support literally unlocked a positive future for her.
Meet Nikita. Now in her late 20’s in a successful job as a product specialist in an assistive technology company, Nikita uses her strengths as a people person to ultimately help students and employees with learning differences to work at their best. As she describes in the video below, she may not have followed this career path if she hadn’t of been given support from the Disabled Students Allowance whilst at university.
Nikita talks about how important it was to get a diagnosis, then get the support and also ultimately learn how to develop self-advocacy skills so as to get what she needs to work at her best.
